— Treyarch (@Treyarch) April 2, 2026 Black Ops 7 Season 3 Isn’t Just a Free Trial, Here’s What’s New
The free trial isn’t the only thing shaking up the game right now. Season 3 launched alongside this weekend event, and it’s not just about new maps or modes. Activision is rolling out fresh anti-cheat measures to keep matches fair and square. Their Ricochet anti-cheat system is getting beefed up to crack down harder on unapproved third-party hardware and cheating software that ruins the game for everyone.
On top of that, there’s a new two-factor authentication (2FA) requirement. If you want to play Season 3, you’ll have to enable 2FA on your account. It’s a solid move to keep your account safe and reduce hacking risks, which benefits the entire community.
This push shows Activision is serious about cleaning up the playing field and making sure everyone has a fair shot. So while you’re grinding double XP this weekend, know that the game is tighter on security than ever.
In short, this weekend is a perfect excuse to jump back into Black Ops 7, explore tons of maps, rack up some XP, and experience a cleaner, more secure game environment thanks to the Season 3 upgrades.
