He said, “If you’re a fan of games like Titanfall or Black Ops 3, we would love to hear from you.” That gives us a clue about the kind of gameplay they’re aiming for—something with the movement and combat style players love in those classic shooters.
Splitgate’s first game was a surprise hit, blending Halo-style shooting with Portal-like portals. After raising $100 million in funding, the studio had big plans. But their follow-up, Splitgate 2, didn’t quite hit the mark. It launched, then was pulled back to beta just weeks later, and the studio had to make some tough calls including layoffs. Even after relaunching as Splitgate: Arena Reloaded, the game struggled to regain its early buzz.
