Forza Horizon 6 Just Dropped New Rush Events Inspired by Player-Made Crazy Maps

If you’ve been racing in Forza Horizon 6 and thought, “Hey, I want something that’s just as thrilling as those wild Showcase events but way more replayable,” you’re in luck. Playground Games has cooked up something fresh called Horizon Rush, and it’s shaking up how you experience the open world.

Horizon Rush Mixes Spectacle with a Challenge You’ll Actually Want to Replay

Showcase events have been a staple of Forza Horizon since the very first game. You know, those epic races against trains, planes, or monster trucks that look stunning and feel like mini-movies. The catch? Most players hit them once, enjoy the wow factor, then move on because there’s no real reason to come back.

That’s why Horizon Rush is a game changer. Instead of a single flashy run, these new events are timed obstacle courses across some of Forza Horizon 6’s coolest spots like Tokyo’s dockyard, an Alpine ski resort, and even a spaceport where, rumor has it, you might see a rocket launch.

Each Rush event breaks the course into sectors so you can see exactly where you’re killing it or losing time. This setup turns it into a challenge you’ll want to master, not just watch once and forget. Plus, you can tackle them solo, team up with friends, or race against others online.

Inspired by What Players Are Already Building Themselves

The coolest part? These Rush events didn’t just come out of thin air. The Playground team looked at how players were already creating their own wild obstacle courses using the Event Lab tools in Forza Horizon 5. Fans were making “no hesitation” style maps where it’s all about speed and weaving through crazy obstacles without a second thought.

Developers spotted this and thought, “Let’s take this player creativity and build a polished, official version that’s both thrilling and accessible.” So, Horizon Rush is kind of like Playground’s upgraded, pro-level take on the community’s best ideas.

Built From the Ground Up Around These Rush Courses

Usually, Forza builds a location first, then fits events into it. This time, the team flipped that approach. They designed the Rush courses first—like the Tokyo dockyard’s “Pier Pressure” event with massive jumps, winding paths through containers, and last-second moving obstacles—then built the rest of the world around them.

This means these events feel tight, purposeful, and packed with those signature cinematic moments you expect from Forza showcases, but with a new twist: they’re designed to keep you coming back to beat your best time.

Level design director Tom Dillow shared a cool moment from development: “I walked past two people staying after hours, headphones on, trying to beat their own times on the docks. That was a lovely moment.” It’s clear the team hit the replayability mark even before launch.

Three Rush Events, All Different, All Fun

There are three Rush events so far, and everyone on the team has their own favorite. Whether it’s the docks with its urban chaos, the snowy Alpine slopes, or the coastal spaceport, each offers a unique vibe and challenges.

As you play through Forza Horizon 6’s career mode, you’ll unlock these Rush events as part of the Milestone events lineup, alongside classic Showcases and new high-profile challenges like the Invitational and Legend Island events.

What’s Next for Horizon Rush?

The team isn’t done yet. They’re watching player data closely and ready to tweak or add more Rush events based on how the community reacts. Lead producer Gareth Davies said, “We wouldn’t rule anything out in terms of future Rush events.” So expect this new event type to grow and evolve with the game.

Bottom line? Forza Horizon 6’s new Rush events give you a fresh, high-octane way to race through the world again and again, inspired by the creativity of players just like you. So, get ready to smash those times and see if you can top the leaderboards.
